Latest: No Vote on K-1 Center Again

The Planning Commission voted 5-0 to give the district more time to amend their presentation. The next Planning Commission date is scheduled for September 8, 2026.

The Middletown Township Planning Commission did not vote Tuesday on Rose Tree Media School District's proposed K-1 Early Learning Center, extending the district's presentation at least another month.

The Planning Commission unanimously moved to give the district more time to amend its presentation. The next Planning Commission meeting date is scheduled for September 8, 2026.

The commission's eventual recommendation will go to Township Council, which makes the final decision.

Over 100 residents once again attended in a packed event. 38 people spoke during public comment, 5 in favor, and 33 against.

The K-1 Center would open in September 2029 with kindergarten only, adding first grade the following year. It would bring full day kindergarten to the school district.
